I no longer work in one of those steel buildings in the metropolis so I strive to make sure I make my office space at home as conducive to work as it is. I so love this dainty home office!

I doubt I can keep it as clean as it is though as I’d like to have my workspace efficient to folders and boxes are my way of organizing things.

Closet Armoire Office

I am not a big fan of armoire closets. I am a big woman so I feel that I would not fit into the desk! Of course my apprehensions are ridiculous. I can see it holding displays for custom pins or little bobs and trinkets I collect though. It would be a great storage craft area too, nice enough to hold everything together, work there from time to time and hide everything when the work is done! No mess seen!

Project Organization: Kids’ Workstations

Vacation has just started for my kids and it is chaos and mayhem as usual around the house. Toys are everywhere, papers and crayons are around and I always hear, “Mom, I’m bored!” every hour. It’s not that they do not have anything to do or play with in the house. It’s how disorganized and cluttered everything is. They can’t seem to decide which ones to get and play with since toys ARE EVERYWHERE. So I have been thinking of revamping their little play area and do a bit of spring cleaning!

I have scoured Pinterest for inspiration and here’s what I found:

The little padded baskets, when properly labelled, will be such a big improvement for the kids and make it easier for them to find toys and pile them away.

These are all IKEA pieces:

I often wish there is a good coupon code like a Cymax promo code for IKEA. I can totally built everything in our house using all IKEA supplies. Coupon Codes would give us such huge savings.

To give you an idea how much each piece costs, here is a kid workstation built mostly using IKEA supplies. A good friend pinned this and actually did this for her son.

Art Pieces to Decorate Your Home Office With

Keeping your home office conducive to work and as efficient as it can be as if you are in a workplace can be challenging. Dedicating a space is problem enough especially if you have a small home, decorating it is going to be a bigger challenge. Hanging pieces of art would be a nice touch to an otherwise drab office. Finding which artwork is going be the next question.

Whether you work full-time at home or just use a home office for paying bills and being your own life concierge, it’s worth creating a space that is not only functional and tech savvy, but that makes you feel good being there. One of the most surefire ways to ensure your workspace doesn’t suffer from cubicle syndrome is to add art. You can also look at it as an investment piece (you no longer need an equipment lease!)

I personally like pieces of art that are minimalistic in nature and are in subdued tones. This is going to be next in my project list.

Keeping Office Supply Organized

A friend of mine is a neat freak and tends to be obsessive compulsive when it comes to organizing things. Her office desk and room at home are sights to behold. Everything is categorized and she also loves to put labels on things. Her boss likes her orderliness because it makes it very easy to find presentation folders and other office supply files whenever they need them. Also, it would be rare to see an office paper scattered anywhere near her cubicle. Needless to say, her desk is pristine and other people whose cubicles are near hers have likewise taken their own steps to become more organized. Also, theoffice supply store is one of her favorite places to go to because she would always find some knick knacks that would help her organize her stuff.

I could just imagine her when it is her time to get married. I am pretty sure she will be a very hands-on bride and it will be one of the most organized weddings there is. In fact, some of our other friends have already asked for her assistance in planning their weddings and they all said that she has been a big help in keeping them sane and organized.

With the economic difficulties that are constantly being experienced by many people around the world, it is not surprising that many are turning to home-based business to keep their families afloat. A home-based business will allow you to have an extra source of income even if you have a regular job.

However, the success of a home-based business depends on the business and your strategies for keeping costs down while driving earnings up. One of the best ways to save on marketing and printing costs is to buy one of those business card printers. You can even do some postcards printing as additional marketing materials. It is quite easy to design business cards online and you can buy affordable but good quality paper. All of these will help you come up with cheap yet professional looking marketing materials.

You can distribute these business cards and printers among family, friends, and colleagues. Do not be shy to give more than one to a family member or a close friend for distribution among their own network of family and friends. Although a lot of marketing by home-based business are now done online, printed materials still serves as good marketing materials.

Inspiring (Home) Workspaces

They say you get obsessed decorating a part of the house you spend the most time in. And for me, that would be my work nook. I work from home and I spend a good 8 hours in it everyday, sometimes more. Having an organized workspace keeps me productive, and I try to maintain the area to look like such, so I can be motivated to work efficiently (not surf around).

I rarely get blackheads on nose too because of it! Why? I keep my desk clean, so my fingers stay clean – and so, whenever I put them in my face, I don’t get clogged pores (I also attribute this to genes, good genes!). What I am trying to say is – keep your work space clean, even if it is at your own home *more so, even*.

Here are some inspiring work offices:
