Advantages of using blinds over curtains
Instead of using curtains, other people use blinds in their home. Here are some of the reasons why.
Easier to clean
Blinds don’t require laundry cleaning processes. All you need to do is to wipe them with wet and dry rags to remove the dirt that settles and collects in between panels.
Sturdier
Because blinds are made up of tough materials, they tend to last longer than curtains.
Spill resistant
Since blinds are generally made of metal, or wood, they are more definitely resistant to staining. That’s because metal and wood are not very absorbent.
Simplistic appeal
Because blinds have nothing more than panels, they provide a very simple appeal.

The windows of a house are very functional. They let light inside your house and provides ventilation. Aside from these, windows could also serve as decoration for your walls. Curtains have long been used to accentuate windows but these are not the only things you can use. Shades or blinds are also very popular as window coverings. Below are some of the different types of shades you can use.
- Roller Shades. As the name suggests, this particular type of shade can be rolled up when not in use. It is made up of one whole sheet of vinyl fabric so they are good for completely blocking out the light.
- Pleated Shades. These shades are often made of polyester fabric that is scrunched up in an accordion style design.
- Roman Shades. These are shades that are flat when lowered and fold up when raised.
- Venetian Blinds. A common type of shades made of horizontal slats, one above the other, and suspended by strips of cloth or by cords.
