Make a Small Room Look Bigger
Decorating tips and ideas to create an illusion of a larger space for a small room
When you live in a house that is cramped for space that you only use one room to watch TV, entertain friends, work on your laptop and more, it can be a real challenge to decorate the room to make it welcoming and relaxing but still functional.
These are the common decorating challenges that are encountered by those who live in a condominium. They have to make do with the available space that they have while creating a home that still feels warm and provides a relaxing atmosphere.
Thankfully, there are workarounds and home decorating tips that one can follow to make an illusion of a big room for a small space. To achieve this, the room must be decorated with furniture and decorating pieces that can trick the eyes.
1. Furniture. One can maximize the limited space in their condominium unit or bachelor pad by using furniture that serves multiple purposes. One type of furniture that serves this purpose is a sleeper sofa.
TheRoomPlace.com furniture line has a lot of these sleeper sofas that can serve as a sofa by day and a bed by night. This definitely can help save space rather than having two furniture pieces in a small room.
Here are some of the sleeper sofas that you can find:
- Gavin Queen Sleeper Sofa in Red. This is a very comfortable sleeper sofa with pillow-topped seats and arms, lower lumbar cushions and no-sag springs. It also has a Queen sized mattress for a good night sleep.

- Confetti Queen sleeper sofa. If you want to go for the traditional style and classic look, then this sleeper sofa is the perfect pick for your space. It uses a chenille fabric with pleated roll arms and exposed carved wooden trim for added details.

2. Color and Accessories. When choosing for the color of the wall, use the same color as the furnishings at it makes the room look larger. Also using the same color and material for the floor and wall across all rooms makes the room feel more spacious.
Accessories like mirrors and glass that reflect light can be hanged on the wall to give an illusion of space.
One can make a small room look cozy and stylish by simply following some of the decorating ideas mentioned above.
All The Yellows!

You can call me officially obsessed with yellow! I love the vibrant, sunshiney hue and I really want it in my kitchen! Look at the homey breakfast nook above, doesn’t the yellow and grey look good together? And the flowery yellow curtain above the kitchen sink just makes you LOVE to do the dishes, right?
I don’t need to get the best airbrush tanning system because I will have such an open kitchen with large windows that will take in lots of sunlight so that doing chores will be tanning in itself!
Art Pieces to Decorate Your Home Office With
Keeping your home office conducive to work and as efficient as it can be as if you are in a workplace can be challenging. Dedicating a space is problem enough especially if you have a small home, decorating it is going to be a bigger challenge. Hanging pieces of art would be a nice touch to an otherwise drab office. Finding which artwork is going be the next question.

Whether you work full-time at home or just use a home office for paying bills and being your own life concierge, it’s worth creating a space that is not only functional and tech savvy, but that makes you feel good being there. One of the most surefire ways to ensure your workspace doesn’t suffer from cubicle syndrome is to add art. You can also look at it as an investment piece (you no longer need an equipment lease!)

I personally like pieces of art that are minimalistic in nature and are in subdued tones. This is going to be next in my project list.

Support Your Minor Home Decorations

Social convention is a lost art for many people. While Emily Post would certainly have advocated for the responsible use of decorations regardless of the season, this is just not the way it works for a large segment of our modern world. Unfortunately, sometimes even the best-prepared individuals have an issue crop up right as their decorations are coming to fruition, and that can rock anybody’s savings. While you can’t avoid having problems in life, you can deal with them without undue stress or hurting your appearance in society.
The first thing you need to do is take a deep breath. No matter what’s happened and how much it hurts right now, you can still come out of this with grace and poise. Your home doesn’t have to turn into a disaster area or look like junkies live there. A simple financial setback doesn’t need to derail your plans to have a fun and wonderful season, just like a hangnail doesn’t need to derail your otherwise good health. Keep things in perspective, and you’ll be able to keep your head and make rational decisions.
After you’ve calmed yourself down, tend to anything that needs taking care of right now. If you’re short on cash, don’t let your pride keep you from making use of payday advance lenders to keep all your ends met in the short term. While it wouldn’t be prudent to use a payday lender all of the time, in a dire situation you sometimes need to take actions you might otherwise consider unseemly. You have appearances to keep up. Just as importantly, you want the world to know that one or two problems may stagger you a little, but nothing will keep you down. That’s the mark of class.
Finally, once all of the functional details are taken care of behind the scenes, tend to the beautiful parts of your life. Continue to decorate, just as you would if nothing bad had happened. This isn’t just about looking good for the outside world. In fact, it’s primarily because in a bad situation, you need to take care of yourself more than ever. If you want to keep from experiencing an emotional funk that could drag you into full-blown depression, you must keep up the things you enjoy alongside payday advance lenders. You must keep on decorating your home, exercising and doing all of the other enjoyable and reasonably-priced activities that keep up the most important and lovely mark of class — your sanity.
Maintain and Expand Your Home to Increase Its Resale Value
A great way to invest your money is to maintain and improve your house. Now only will you enjoy living in a home that’s kept up, but you’re also more likely to make money when you decide to sell your house. Here are some tips for turning your house into a home and a profitable investment that will pay off in the future.
Fix Problems as They Arise
There are some emergencies such as a leaky roof, a busted water heater, and a broken window that need immediate attention. Even if you don’t have the cash on hand, installment loans from Great Plains Lending can help you get these repairs done in a timely manner.
Do Your Research
When you are contemplating adding a new feature to your home such as a deck, patio, or sun room, take the time to read articles, blogs, and product information. You’ll also want to look at photos of completed projects to get a feel for what style you prefer, and when it’s time to select a company to do the work, request references.
Think About Outside Space
Increasingly, buyers are interested in homes with attractive outdoor spaces, especially if they appear to extend the living area into the back yard. Outdoor kitchens, water features, rain gardens, fish ponds, and walking paths are just some of the features that can add value to your home. The costs of these projects vary greatly, so you can find one to fit almost any budget.

Create Additional Living Space
Professional architects and builders can assist you in developing plans to truly transform your home and increase the living space. From adding another story to finishing a basement to converting a screened in porch to a sunroom, you can expand your square footage in a number of ways.
Install new Appliances and Hardware
It may not sound as glamorous as adding a room to your home, but upgrading your appliances, door knobs, and fixtures can have a big impact on the look of your home. Stainless steel is a popular choice for stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other kitchen equipment. If you install new sinks, think about a bowl style basin that sits on top of the counter. As for counters, consider the look and utility of granite counter tops in the kitchen.

By staying on top of maintenance, addressing problems quickly, and being proactive in developing new features for your house, you’ll create an inviting space for your family and possibly earn some money when you go to sell your home. If money wasn’t an obstacle, what features would you add to your home to increase its appeal and value?
Colorful Walls – White Beddings
I have never hidden the fact that I love white beddings, as much as I love reading books from an ebook reader. I just cannot splurge on white linens this time because I still have kids under 10 which can really ruin a pristine white bed by jumping into it upon arriving from school (this has happened more than once).
Have you ever thought about having white linens with colored walls though? It makes for a great and interesting room! Take a look!

Decorating a bedroom can be intimidating. Bedding is expensive, and matching it to paint, rugs, and curtains is often overwhelming. A quick fix? Pick a gorgeous color for the walls, grab some all-white bedding, and consider it done (but still stylish).
Kid-Themed Rooms
If you are looking into cutesy bedroom themes for your kids, I saw three models online and would be sharing them to you. I know that there are life insurance types I need to study and look at but these are just too cute not to blog about! I would definitely love a themed room when I have babies in the future.
Which one is your favorite?

Some Nice Graphic Print Designs (Words)

**These are collection of prints by Therese Sennerholt Design.
I was looking for a steel drum to buy to save some water rain. It is rainy season where I live and it has been raining 4 out of the 7 days and we are big on conserving energy and recycling and saving water so using rainwater to clean the bathroom and the garage will be a big help.
