Table tennis and lawn tennis both whack the ball back and forth within the limited boundary. Both give a certain movement for the body that will is considered exercise. Apart from scoring, what differences do these two sports have?

1. Lawn tennis requires a big area with a cage around the court so that the ball will not hit something else that is not supposed to be accidentally hit. That means if you want to have your own lawn tennis court, you got to have the land it requires. Table tennis, on the other hand requires a much smaller space you can even have it inside your house or at your backyard. You do not even need a cage around because even if you drive a ball you can pick it up in no time.

2. With lawn tennis, you technically “run” from side to side, forward and backward, just to catch the ball so you can send it back to your opponent. That requires much lung strength. Your legs and knees must not be wobbly too. If your knee joints hurt, you can’t last long. Stamina is very important. With table tennis, you also need the stamina and strength of your lungs but not as much as what lawn tennis requires.

3. Lawn tennis raquet is netted, big and heavy to be able to handle a lawn tennis ball which is almost as big as a baseball ball. Table tennis paddle is just that–a paddle–small and made of wood with some rubber so the small lightweight ball can bounce good and not slide through the paddle when hit.
