Hot Tub Maintenance

Owning a hot tub, or what is commonly known as a Jacuzzi, at home is a dream for many people. What would I give to have a mini-spa at home! I originally thought that maintaining a hot tub is expensive and can be very overwhelming but I found out it is truly quite simple.

The most basic thing you need to have, aside from spa chemicals, is a cover for your hot tub, especially if it is located outdoors. There are a lot of hot tub covers to choose from. They need not be expensive, as discount spa covers are made of quality material and are durable too.

Wiping the acrylic shell of your tub with a damp cloth periodically will help you keep your tub as nice as the day you bought it.

There are some basic spa chemicals you need to add to the water to kill standing bacteria and germs. These are chlorine, bromine, baquanine or other mineral based purifiers. Chlorine is one of the most common and widely known water sanitizers; you can find chlorine tablets and granules created specifically for spa use available at spa retailers. When the water care basics are followed, proper water chemistry can be maintained in just a few minutes a week.

Maintenance of a hot tub doesn’t need a lot of hard work, just consistent care. When taken cared of properly, hot tubs can last for a long time.

Having a pet can bring so much joy to a family no matter what kind of animal it is. However, having a large dog often means having larger mess as well. Having a pet and a clean house at the same time is not impossible! Below are some tips to help you keep your house clean if you have a dog or any kind of pet.

Use a microfiber mop. Dogs and cats are prone to shedding so using a microfiber mop will help a lot. These mops will easily pick up the animal hairs quickly. You could also buy pet clothes so that the fur does not get scattered around the house.
Get animal shoes. Putting on shoes on your pet will help prevent floor stains and scruff marks.
Designate your pet’s area. Even if your pet is inside the house, designating an area for your pet will contain any mess made by your pet. Put dog toys in your pet’s corner to keep your pet entertained.
Clean immediately. Do not delay cleaning up any mess. The longer you wait, the harder it is to clean. Also, your house will be cleaner most of the time if you remove any mess immediately.

Advantages of installing air purifiers

When I first heard about air purifiers in an TV advertisement, I was skeptical about the device. Now, a few years after installing some in our house, I’m a believer and a fan of air purifiers. Here’s why.

Less allergen

Because we live near a major thoroughfare, smoke and dust particles make their way inside our house. And since my husband and my children are sensitive to dust and smoke, sneezing and coughing are common occurrences in the house, well at least before I installed the air purifiers. Now, we rarely cough and sneeze because the device filters out the particles from the air circulating inside the house.

Less mold infestation
Surprisingly, molds are some of the most common houseguests. They practically occur in any house, but more especially in residences near gardens, forests, and places with a lot of soil and greeneries. These resilient and pesky visitors enter houses by spreading spores that are carried by the wind. Fortunately for us, our air purifiers are as effective as most furnace filters in sifting out and eliminating mold spores. Now we enjoy having mold-free cabinets and walls.

Fresher air
Because the air that circulates inside the house are repeatedly filtered by air purifiers, the air we smell and take in are cleaner and odorless. With air purifiers, we don’t only have a safe home, but we have a cleaner home as well.

Even if try our best to keep our glass surfaces and furniture free from adhesive stains, kids can still manage to stick all sorts of adhesives to them like stickers, duct tapes, or simple labels. Here are some materials you might find useful in removing stains caused by these adhesives.

Although it seldom happens, some adhesive stains can be removed with water and a good amount of rubbing.

Mild alcohol-based liquids substances like aftershaves or rubbing alcohol can also be used to remove light stains produced by adhesives on glass surfaces.

Lighter fluid or rubber cement thinner
