Many people are surely equipped with the preconceived notion that cosmetology school graduates have hairdressing and makeup artistry in their futures. However, this is definitely one myth that can be dismissed. There are hundreds upon hundreds of career possibilities for graduates of beauty schools.

All the top beauty schools offer massage therapy training programs and diplomas. Some may not necessarily associate this field of study with cosmetology, but the truth of the matter is that cosmetology school is where one would go to become practiced in this field. Imagine a world without physical therapists or chiropractors.

Regency Beauty Institute is the fastest growing cosmetology school in the country. Regency has expanded from two Minnesota schools in 2002 to 80 (and counting) campuses across 19 states, with continued growth every year.

Loft with Orange Accents – Perfect for Fall/Halloween

Posted by admin On September - 29 - 2011 1 Comment

Time to turn on the pool heat pumps in your pool, if your house has one. It is now officially the start of fall, with September 23rd being the official start of longer nights across the world. I figured it would be a perfect time to feature a house with orange accents – perfect for pumpkin-picking season, fall/autumn and Halloween!

This is a small loft – and yet you can see each space has been maximized efficiently and the high ceilings gave the illusion of bigger spaces.

. Occupying 58 square meters, this apartment displays functional spaces divided on two floors. The first floor shelters the main living spaces – kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom, while the second floor is occupied by the bedroom. The elongated structure of the apartment allowed the living spaces to be united by a stylish spiral staircase. Found on Homedit, the beautiful small apartment seems larger due to the height of the ceilings. This also allowed the space to be configured the way it is – with a mezzanine sheltering the private quarters, where relaxation and joy is enhanced by a feeling of fairytale design.

Wireless Doorbells For Your Home

Posted by admin On September - 21 - 2011 24 Comments

There are lots of conveniences that people put in their homes to make their lives easier. One such convenience is a wireless doorbell. Doorbells have long been usual home features that will let you know if there is anyone at the door. Aside from this, security is a serious issue in many households which is also sometimes addressed by doorbells. Kids are taught not to talk to strangers and not to open the door to just about anyone. Some doorbells also have a built-in alarm system.

Many years ago, exterior doors of houses have door knockers which are the older forms of doorbells. These door knockers are often made of metal that can be lifted and used to strike the door or another metal plate attached to the door. This will emit a loud sound that will let you know that you have a visitor.

When electric circuits became widely used in many household items, the door knocker was replaced by the doorbell. The early doorbells are wired systems consisting of a button that activates a buzzer to make a loud sound. These wired doorbells evolved into wireless ones when wireless signals were developed and used for transmission in many devices.

A wireless doorbell often consists of two devices. One of the devices is installed outside the home and contains the button that visitors can press to alert the people inside the house of their presence. This device has a built-in transmitter that sends wireless signals to the other device. The second device is installed inside the home and receives the signal transmitted by the device installed outside. When it receives the signal, it will emit a loud sound.

WirelessDoorbellStore.com offers a wide range of wireless doorbells that you can choose from. If you are looking for a doorbell to install in your home, you will need to decide whether to get a wired one or a wireless one. To help you in your decision, below are some advantages of getting a wireless doorbell.

· Wireless doorbells are easy to install. Wired doorbells take longer to install because you will have to deal with proper wiring to make the doorbell work. This means that if you want to install the receiver farther inside the house, you will have to deal with longer wires. With a wireless doorbell system, all you have to do is to attach each of the devices in any area that you want.

· Wireless doorbells are portable. If wireless doorbells are easy to install, they are also easy to remove! You can easily move the receiver around the house, allowing you to hear the doorbell even if you are in the basement or in the bathroom. This also makes them perfect for those who are only renting the houses they are living in because if they need to move to another house, they can easily remove their wireless doorbells and easily install it again.

· Wireless doorbells look better. Because there are no unsightly wires anywhere, your wireless doorbell looks better than a wired one.
WirelessDoorbellStore.com has a lot of wireless doorbells in many different designs that you can choose from. Their wireless doorbells also come with a wide range of features that make them more functional and useful.

Posted by admin On September - 21 - 2011 46 Comments
Most popcorn aficionados have probably visited epopcorn.com, a site that offers everything you will ever need to make great tasting movie theater style popcorn right in your own home. However, loving popcorn takes more than eating them frequently. There are a lot of things that you will surely be thrilled to learn about “corn that pops”. Read on to find out.

The First Popcorn
Do you ever wonder when the first popcorn was made and eaten? Native Americans have been popping corn as early as 3600 B.C. based on some popcorn evidence found in New Mexico. Popcorn was an important food for the Native Americans but it was also used for decoration such as in headdresses, necklaces, ornaments, and garlands, among others. Over the years, the affordability of pop corn has made it constantly popular as a snack.

The Popping Process
Making popcorn can be very interesting not just for little children but even for adults. The corn pops because the kernels have a hard moisture-sealed hull and a dense starchy interior which allows pressure to build inside the kernel when being subjected to heat from oil and water. Once the kernel ruptures and pops from extreme internal pressure, the starchy interior expands and becomes foamy, cooling into the familiar crispy puff. A popcorn kernel actually has approximately 12% moisture inside of it. As you heat up the kernel the moisture turns into steam and expands. Once the kernel reaches 475 degrees Fahrenheit the expanding steam forces the hull to explode (or pop).

You can follow these easy steps though:

1.) Turn on both switches Lamp/Warming Deck and Kettle switches.2) Allow the kettle to heat for 3-5 minutes.

3.) Open the Lid of the Kettle

4.) Add oil to the kettle – measured

5.) Add Seasonings – measured

6.) Add corn – measured

7.) Close the Lid of the Kettle

8.) Keep front door slightly open to prevent fogging

9) Allow popcorn to pop until app. 3-4 seconds lapses between pops.

10) Rotate the handle of the kettle and tilt the kettle down to empty

11) Turn the Kettle switch OFF. You may leave the Lamp/Warming deck power on if you want.

Using Popcorn Machines

Many years ago, popping corn was often done by putting the kernels along with a little oil inside a stovetop kettle and heating it. However, this can inefficient popping, leaving you with some un-popped kernels along with a few burnt ones.
Over the years, popcorn machines have been developed to make popcorn making easier and faster. From compact home popcorn machines to larger-sized commercial ones, most of them come with a wide range of features that will entice you to get one. Among the common features that come with these popcorn machines are aluminum kettles, tempered glass panels, stainless steel cleanout trays, warming lights, and many more.

Different Popcorn Kernels
Making your own popcorn is made even more fun with the various popcorn kernels that are now available in the supermarkets and come in many different flavors. Below is a quick guide on buying popcorn kernels.
·         Popcorn Flavors. This is one of the first things that many people decide on when buying popcorn kernels. You can go for the healthier unflavored ones or you can try the many different flavors that you will be able to find. Among the popular flavors are butter, cheese, caramel, chocolate, and many more, including combinations of different flavors.
·         Popcorn Kernels. If you are an avid popcorn eater, you would have noticed that popcorn often comes in two basic shapes – those that appear to have ridges and wings and those that are shaped like a ball. Popcorn kernels that look like they have ridges and wings are called butterfly kernels while those that look like balls are called mushroom kernels.
·         Popcorn Expansion Rate. The amount of popcorn that your popcorn kernels can yield is called its popcorn expansion rate. When it comes to this figure, the higher, the better.
With all the popcorn-related products like popcorn machines, popcorn supplies, and popcorn kernels that you can get from epopcorn.com, you can easily make the best popcorn in your own home.

According to this article in ISBN Magazine, the previously online-in-Europe-only home collections (which launched in 2009) will finally become available online for the US market as well this coming Spring, 2012.

The article includes some other interesting tidbits on the home division of the affordable retailer; the Home collection gets updated four times a year and relates its trends to seasonal fashion shifts. 8 designers work on the home goods, compared to 120 in the fashion division.

Taking a peek at the current home items available online at H&M in Great Britain, one can see that they are broken down into specific collections that vary widely in style, color and potential target customer, from Bohemian Vintage and Authentic Autumn (both with interesting components) to Playful Style (LOTS of pink and puppies), with plenty of basics filling out the offerings.

Clipboards on the Wall

Posted by admin On September - 17 - 2011 0 Comment

As you can probably tell I am obsessed with walls lately. I have been trying to decide what to do with a wall along side my work desk and between choosing pictures and a work/central command area, I am torn. These clipboards on a wall are very nice. I wonder if it can work as a house number plaque too!

Decisions. Decisions.

Shelves on the Wall

I would seriously love a wall like this in our hall:

You can’t tell if the picture was taken from a digital gps camera or an SLR but this post (and project) was from Centsational Girl and I love how her house is coming together!

As a mother, I have artwork of kids I want to show off in one or another and those shelving ideas would do the trick rather nicely. I would love to try it out!

See her post.
